  2. Brief Intro… Proper management of Information Systems is part of being profitable in a retail industry. Hollister Co. as any other retail store is highly dependent on the Information System and uses it to control its sales, inventory , payroll and whole business in general. Our group has analyzed problems and possible solutions of IS at Hollister will talk about it next…
  3. Company Background Hollister Co. (abbreviated to HCO or Hollister) is an American lifestyle brand by Abercrombie & Fitch Co. The HQ is located in St. Columbus, OH. The concept is designed to attract consumers aged 14-18 through its SoCal-inspired image and casual wear. Goods are available in-store and through the company's online store. Despite the age target, the appeal of the HCO brand is universal like its parent brandand was ranked as the second most preferred teen clothing brand in 2008 by a national poll. Stores are located all over US. It was also recently introduced to the European market.
  4. Hollister’s Information System… Hollister is using Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System This software package automates processes and store operations, provides centralized control for multi-store retailers Work with a customizable screen that offers immediate access to prices, availability, and stock location. Access customer histories at the; handle multiple tenders and partial payments at checkout; and quickly create and process returns, back orders, sales quotes and work orders Expedite checkouts, target customer preferences to offer up-sells and cross-sells, and implement automatic discounts for frequent shoppers.
  5. Main problem Hollister is experiencing with MRM System Even though MRM system provides with tools to effectively control and track its inventory, Hollister constantly mismatches the inventory on hand with actual computer records Scanning system used to scan the barcodes at the point of sale is outdated and needs to be renewed. Stores frequently have problems with it and need to restart the whole computer Order tracking system is poorly designed
  6. Our possible solutions Purchase of new scanning system for the stores Design a better order tracking system that will help increase sales online Inventory Management- Better tracking of inventory- Keep more accurate inventory records- Automatic order placement
