Tracker Longevity Studies Andrea Venturi on behalf of Tracker Project Upgrade Project Office
Draft Plan • Tracker detector longevity predictions shown by Frank H. in Lisbonhttps://indico.cern.ch/getFile.py/access?contribId=9&sessionId=3&resId=1&materialId=slides&confId=204705 • predictions will be refined • pixel part to be expanded • Performance studies • Include predictions of future detector status in CMSSW simulation • partly easy, partly trivial (but not immediate) , partly demanding developments • Test performance on selected samples using available tools • efficiency, fake rate, hit resolution, track resolution, hit on tracks... • single track samples ttbar samples: with and without pileup • Pixel phase 1 TDR tracking is the presently available one • A detailed plan and a possible schedule will be prepared with the help of (or mainly by) the TRK DPG Upgrade Project Office
Requests/Questions to UPO • Is this what you want from us? • When do you want it? • Define the scenario(s) to be studied • Integrated luminosity • amount of pileup • Coordinate performance studies at the GED level • what does CMS want GED being able to do at that time? • Help needed to interact with offline/computing to: • have the CMSSW releases and the GlobalTag prepared • produce the MC samples • we will keep the requests to the minimum but they may be technically challenging: pileup + tracking particles Upgrade Project Office
