Court Reporter Salaries Years Certified in Idaho: 0-1 Years $40,724 1-2 Years $43,012 3-4 Years $44,503 5 or more years $46,277 Court Reporters who are Real-Time Capable or Certified qualify for a two (2) percent increase in their salary. Court Reporters who are Real-Time Certified also receive a one-time $2,000 salary increase. Court Reporters who are Real-Time Capable or Certified also qualify for a one-time equipment and/or software reimbursement in the amount of $2,500.   5. Insurance Premium Rates NOTE: You may decline Dental insurance for your dependants, however, you cannot decline these benefits for yourself unless you decline all health insurance benefits. You need to be absolutely certain before you decline Dental for your dependents, as they cannot be added back to your policy unless there is an open enrollment period for Dental.

Wellness Benefits • For these specifically listed services, 100% for Traditional and High Deductible, PPO has a $20.00 co-pay for each: • Well baby care and well child care – routine or scheduled examinations, including Rubella and PKU tests. • Adult examinations – annual physical examinations, including pap tests, preventive screening mammogram services, fecal occult blood test, PSA tests, and cholesterol panel, and CBC and SMAC blood tests. • Immunizations (except travel-related vaccines). • For services not specifically listed, BCI pays: • 80% of maximum allowance after deductible (traditional plan). • 85% of maximum allowance after deductible (PPO). • 70% of maximum allowance after deductible (high deductible).

  9. Mental Health, Substance Abuse & EAP Benefits • The Integrated Behavioral Health Plan is designed to deal with a wide array of problems, drawing on various treatment methods and settings. Eligible employees and dependents have up to 200 Behavioral Health Benefit Hours available per contract year as detailed below. Residents of Treasure Valley call 343-4180; 24 Hour Pre-Authorization Hotline 1-877-427-2327. You Must call BPA to Pre-Authorize all care and services.

  10. Flexible Spending Accounts • Benefits: tax-advantaged way to pay for out of pocket medical or dependant care costs. • Eligibility: after 10 months of service, the next July 1. • Enrollment: online through SCO each spring. • Limits: $3,000 medical/$5,000 dependent care.

  11. State-Provided Disability Insurance for Employees

Disability Retirement • If your career is cut short because of a total and permanent disability that prevents you from earning a livelihood (i.e., you cannot perform any work for compensation), you may be eligible for a disability benefit if you meet the stringent requirements. • Depending on your position, there are different types of disability retirements under each of these: • Social Security (applies to all employees) • PERSI (applies to MJs and nonjudicial) • Typical path involves using accrued leaves, then short-term disability, then long-term disability, and then consideration of disability retirement. This is a highly complex area and we will always advise you to retain counsel to guide you through this maze, particularly social security disability determinations.

Life Insurance • State pays for basic life insurance, which is 100% of salary. • Employees can elect to purchase supplemental life insurance, which is 100% of salary, and paid through payroll deduction. The premium is based on age and salary. The policy can be converted to an individual policy at termination. • NCPERS decreasing term life insurance policy for $16.00/month ($192 annually) provides smaller benefits that decrease as you age. Can continue post-retirement and pay for out of PERSI retirement benefit. Only PERSI employees are eligible for this insurance. • Open market option.

Leave Accruals • Sick Days • Accrues at 1 day per month, unlimited accrual • Use: Actual sickness for you or your immediate family (spouse, children, parents, siblings, etc.) • May be used for funeral leave if approved by Supervisor • Upon retirement, half of your accrued balance (up to 600 hours) of your accrued sick time will be converted to a fund to pay for retiree medical insurance and Medicare supplements through PERSI: • Court Reporter with 157 days accrued sick time and highest salary has maximum amount available [150 days x 8 hours/day] x .5 x $22.25 = $13,350.00 available • Medical Appointment Hours • All employees have 24 hours of medical appointment leave beginning each January. These hours can be used for doctor appointments for you or your immediate family members • Vacation Days • Accrues at 1 day per month, 42 day maximum • After 5 years of service accrues at 1.25 days per month • After 10 years of service accrues at 1.50 days per month • After 15 years of service accrues at 1.75 days per month

PERSI Base Plan • Public Employee’s Retirement System of Idaho • General Members are Rule of of 90 • Member contributes 6.23% • Employer contributes 10.39% • The contribution rates will be increased effective July 1, 2011 to: • Member contributes 6.79% • Employer contributes 11.32% • Under the Rule of 90, retirees may receive an unreduced retirement allowance if your years of service, plus your age, equal 90. You do not need to reach the Rule of 90 to retire. As long as you have reached minimum retirement age, and have at least 60 months of service, you may retire. However, if you retire before reaching service retirement age or the Rule of 90, your benefit amount will be reduced. • If you have other PERSI-covered employment, you may be under a blended Rule for retirement. • PERSI administers this program and provides on-line access to your account as well as annual statements.

Deferred Compensation • Deferred Compensation is a tax-advantaged way to save for retirement. • Can start, change, or stop contributions anytime. • Deferred Compensation Options through the State of Idaho: • PERSI Choice 401(k) • Maximum contribution for 2010 - $16,500 (Over 50 = $22,000) • Nationwide Deferred Comp 457 • Maximum contribution for 2010 - $16,500 (Over 50 = $22,000)

Retirement Health Care • Increasingly complex area with intersection of State’s retiree health plan, Medicare, personal policies, and supplemental policies. • Highly technical with draconian consequences. You must enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B in the initial enrollment period to obtain supplemental insurance (or special enrollment period if applicable). • With the passage of HB 173, retirees who are Medicare eligible can no longer enroll on the retiree health plan through Group Insurance. However, if your dependents are not Medicare eligible, they may still enroll. • If you or a dependent are Medicare eligible due to disability, you will be allowed to enroll in the retiree health plan until you are age 65. • Sick Leave Entitlement may be used to pay for certain supplemental policies, but you must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B to obtain a supplemental policy. • Contact information for the Department of Administration: 208.332.1860 (in the Treasure Valley) 800.531.0597 (outside the Treasure Valley)
