  2. Writing Equations from data: • Find 2 data points • Get slope • Use point-slope form (Plug in slope & 1 ordered pair) • Solve for y Extrapolating: Getting an extra point Given an x (or y value) Plug it into your equation Solve for y (or x)

  3. Example 1: At 6°C, A cricket chirps 11 times per minute. At 20°C, A cricket chirps 109 times. How: Write an equation to model chirps per degree Celsius Which is input-x? Which is output-y? Write two ordered pairs (temp,chirp) then solve from yesterday! Temp Chirps

  4. ExtendUse your formula • Find the number of chirps if the temp is 18 • If a cricket chirps 109 times, what is the temp?
