  2. MULTIPLYING BY POWERS OF TEN Strategy: When you multiply any whole number by a power of ten you simply add the number of zeros that the power of ten has to the original number. When you multiply a decimal number by a power of ten the decimal moves to the right the number of zeros in the power of ten. Example: 34 x 10³ = 34 000 57.64 x 104 = 576 400

  4. 5.76 x 10³ Decimal moves 3 to the right = 5760

  5. 652 x 105 Add 5 zeroes to 652 = 65 200 000

  6. 23.9 x 104 Decimal moves four to the right = 239 000
