  1. Maturity Through Prayer Ro. 12:12– be faithful in prayer Col. 4:2– devote yourselves to prayer Prayer is one element of us building the relationship with God, which Jesus died for. It is sad that many Christians have a dull, boring and devitalized prayer life.

  2. How to Revitalize Your Prayer Life • Start with the right attitude. Not like the hypocrites. Matt. 6:5 • Be real– don’t try to impress others as the Pharisees. Don’t try to impress God– he knows everything, so just talk from your heart. 2. Berelax—Matt. 6: 6. Be alone, be quiet, remove distractions and concentrate.

  3. 3. Be revealing-- Matt.6: 7-8. Just talk, it’s a conversation between two persons. Let Him know what’s really on your heart.

  4. Prayer Jesus’ Way • PRAISE: I begin by expressing my love to God. Vs 9 -- two kind of praise– adoration ( praising God for who He is) and thanksgiving ( praising God for what he has done). Ps 100:4 How to Praise: When you read your Bible write down what it says about God’s character. Nu 14:8. God answers prayers that recognize who he is

  5. You can affirm the promises that God has made in His names. Eg. Jehovah- Shalom • Make a list of all the things God has done and review them in your prayer. It’s amazing to see what the Lord has done.

  6. PURPOSE:I commit myself to God’s purpose and will for my life v 10. Your Kingdom come Your will be done.. Do whatever You want to do in my life. • PROVISION: I ask God to provide for my friends. Pray about all needs- great and small. • Phil 4:19, Ro 8:32, James 4:2 & Phil 4:6 • Does God knows my needs, then why pray? • Prayer is totally dependency on God and showing it completely.

  7. PARDON – I ask God to forgive my sins • Four steps to forgiveness • Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal every sin • Confess each sin specifically • Make restitution when necessary • By faith accept God’s forgiveness

  8. People: I pray for other people • Eg of what to say Col 1:9 • Avoid just saying bless them or help them • Make a prayer list : and use each day to pray for different persons.

  9. PROTECTION: I ask God for spiritual protection from God • We are in a daily battle with the enemy so each day we need to start with God’s protection. • 1John 4:4 Do not be afraid of the enemy. Know God is in control. • While God can speak to us in many ways we can only speak to Him in one way– and that’s prayer
