  2. Review the purposes of the LAW: 1. It was added because of sin Gal. 3:19 2. To show sin for what it is Rom. 7:13 3. Because of timing (Jesus) Gal. 3:19 4. Because of Faith in Jesus Gal. 3:22-25

  3. Remind of the problem with the LAW: +the law of the Lord is perfect! Psalm 19:7 BUT +the law made nothing perfectHeb. 7:19 +the law can’t give LIFE! Gal 3:21 John 10:10

  4. Remember the MAIN purpose of the LAW: To show us our need for a Savior!

  5. Special Timing: Man’s timing: …until the time appointed by the father Gal. 4:2 God’s timing: …the fullness of the time had come, God Gal. 4:4 Jesus’ timing: John 2:4 at the wedding John 7:6 at the Feast of Tabernacles John 8:20 as Jesus taught in the temple

  6. Special Sonship: Adoption: God makes us members of His Family Redemption: God releases us from the bondage of sin and satan through the price paid: Jesus’ blood sacrifice Romans 8:14-17 1 John 3:1-2

  7. Special Privledges: 1. Indwelt by (Holy) Spirit Gal. 4:6 2. God is your Father Gal. 4:6 3. You are a son not a slave Gal. 4:6 4. You are an heir Gal. 4:7
