We give back to you Father, those whom you first gave to us.You did not lose them in giving them to usand so we do not lose them in their return to you. Your Son has taught us that life is eternal and love cannot die, death is only a horizon the limits of our sight.Open our eyes and lift us up,so that we may see more clearly.Draw us closer to you so that we may knowthat we are nearer to our loved one who are with you. And while you prepare a place for us as you have promised, prepare us also for that happy place that where you are, we may be also with those we have loved, for ever. Amen. William Penn

Thursday 24th OctoberSaint Anthony Mary Claret, Bishop One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints. This bothered me because I noticedthat during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord,"You promised me Lord, that if I followed you,you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my lifethere have only been oneset of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you haveseen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you." Mary Stevenson Chaplaincy group meeting, 1.15pm in RE2, all are welcome!

REMEMBER: Friday 1st November • Remember that next Friday is a Holy Day of Obligation for the Feast of All Saints. • Make every effort to attend Mass on this day and bear witness to your faith.
ALL SAINTS On the Feast of All Saints we think about the people who are in Heaven - people we know, who have died: grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, friends - and lots of people we don't know too. They are all saints. This word means "belonging to God". A long time ago, if you were a Christian, trying to be like Jesus Christ, you were called a saint. The saints were all great people. They were great for God. We can be like them. We belong to God and want to be like Jesus - just like the saints. So the feast of All Saints, is about us, as well as the people in Heaven.
