Key Skills, Graduate Employability & Lifelong Learning

Project Aim: To embed and disseminate good practice in key skill development as a way of enhancing graduate employability and developing the skills of lifelong learning
Keynote Project Outputs • The Keynote Project Staff/Student audit • Personal Development Plan • Work Placement Guide • Good Practice Guide • Staff Resource Pack on Key Skills
Keynote PDP • Easy to use • Electronic or paper based • Comprehensive and relevant • Tool to interface between Personal Tutor and Tutee • Trialed at 9 Institutions of HE • May be customised for individual department use • Generic application – employed by several institutions, nationally and internationally
Help Students to: • Become more autonomous; • Understand how they learn; • Monitor, plan and reflect on their learning; • Articulate what they have learnt; • Become lifelong learners.

Application • Navigation is self explanatory • Does require an element of engagement by the facilitator to plan interaction • Design has set aside 1 hour per week to facilitate contact • For 2005 Design will integrate the PDP into a compulsory Professional Skills module
