1st Vacuum Symposium UK and the 9th RGA Users Meeting (VS-1 & RGA9) Daresbury Laboratory, Warrington UK. 10th - 11th February 2010 This NEW 1st Vacuum Symposium UK will include something for everyone, including FREE training seminars for new vacuum users, technical talks for the more experienced vacuum user and a vacuum equipment exhibition for everyone. This first meeting (VS-1) will run alongside the very successful meeting series RGA9 – the 9th RGA Users Meeting. The entire programme will run over 2 days with the RGA9 programme on day 1 and the VS-1 programme on day 2. The meeting will be FREE of charge so attendance will be restricted. VS-1 1st Vacuum Symposium UK – a one day technical programme covering a broad range of talks in the field of vacuum science and technology. RGA9 9th Residual Gas Analyser Users Meeting – a one day programme covering a wide range of presentations related to the use and application of RGA’s. Training Seminars The aim is to hold FREE training seminars with new vacuum users and students in mind.

Where is Barony Castle ? • Only four miles from the county town of Peebles and eighteen miles south of Edinburgh, Eddleston is well situated for both city and local shopping, tourist and leisure activities. • Eddleston is a delightful conservation village in the soft rolling Borders countryside. Eddleston is made up of the village itself plus quite a number of surrounding farms. • In 2001 (the latest census data available) there were 129 households with a total population of 335 split 47% male and 53% female. • Owned by De Vere Venues, Barony Castle is situated in Eddleston Village.
Travelling By Bus • The region's bus service operator is First Edinburgh and it links all the major towns within the Borders. National Express links the Borders to Newcastle. By bus from Edinburgh • The journey to Peebles takes a little under one hour from Edinburgh and is operated by First Edinburgh Bus Transport. • The bus route 62a & b runs approximately every 30 minutes By cab (taxi) • The journey takes about 35 minutes from Edinburgh
Travel by car From the North, depart A720 Edinburgh City bypass at the Lothianburn junction and follow signs to Peebles on the A703. On reaching Eddleston Village take 1st right at the Horseshoe Inn Follow this road for approximately 200 metres. The entrance to Barony Castle is on your right. From the South West, follow the M74 and exit at Moffat and follow the A701 to Edinburgh. Take the first junction you see (40 miles) signposted for Peebles and follow this road until reaching Peebles. Follow the A703 signposted for Edinburgh and follow this road until reaching Eddleston Village. Take 2nd left at the Horseshoe Inn Follow this road for approximately 200 metres. The entrance to Barony Castle is on your right. From the South East, Follow the A1 north to Newcastle Follow the A696 signposted for Newcastle Airport. Turn onto A68 signposted for Jedburgh. From Jedburgh follow A68 to Galashiels then A72 to Peebles Then see directions above.
Travelling By Mini Bus A shuttle bus will run from Edinburgh Airport to Barony Castle 3* times on Friday am and 3* times on Sunday pm *depending on numbers and demand
