Bologna Declaration 1999 • Voluntary agreement between member countries • Aims to develop a European Higher Education Area that - provides comparable systems of higher education - facilitates mobility of students and staff - provides access to high-quality higher education - enhances academic co-operation - supports personal development of students
Objectives of the Bologna Process • implement a system with three main cycles (bachelor/masters/doctorate) • develop a system of easily readable and comparable degrees • establish a system of credits (e.g. ECTS) • promote mobility by overcoming obstacles • promote co-operation in quality assurance • enhance institutional co-operation
