TARGET STANDARDS The use of verbs in a simple present form. The use of “ing” form of the verb in response to questioning.
OBJECTIVES • The students will be able to distinguish verbs in a simple present form. • The students will be able to apply or use “ing” form of the verb in response to questioning. • The students will be able to determine verbs in a sentence.
UNIT SUMMARY • In this Unit, the students will learn about action words or verbs. The students will learn how to use the “ing” form of the verb. The activities of the students will be more likely to have an active participation using psychomotor skills. At the end of this Unit, the students will present a powerpoint documentation of the things they do “ Powerpoint Presentation Performance”.
Calendar of Activities Week 1 Day 1-What Are The Things Children Usually Do Everyday ( Using Action Words) a. Overview about the entire Unit b. The teacher will tell the objectives Day 2-3-What Children Do At Home, At School and in the Community (Discussion) a. The students will be given K-W-L chart
b. The teacher will discuss the things they do at home using verbs c. The teacher will conduct Questioning d. The teacher will discuss the things children usually do at school and in the community using action words (verb) Day4- What children Usually Eat and Drink ( Using Action Words Eat and Drink) • The teacher will have a review about the past lesson • The teacher will discuss and present a new lesson
Day 5-What Children Can and Can’t Do ( Using Action Words Yes,I can and No, I can’t) • The teacher will introduce and discuss the lesson • The teacher will have a discussion about the rules in using “Yes, I can, No, I can’t. • The students will have Written Journal
Week 2 Day 1- The Continuation of the Past Lesson • The teacher will have a review about the past lesson • The teacher will have Questioning Day 2- What Children Are Doing ( Using Action Words That Ends in “ing” form) • The teacher will have a discussion about the rules in using “ing”form of the verb • The teacher will give some examples
Day 3-What is He or She Doing ( Using Yes, he/she is and No,he/she isn’t) • The teacher will review the past lesson • The teacher will talk over about the new lesson Day 4-What Are They Doing( Using”ing” form of the verb for many persons and animals) • The teacher will discuss the rules in using “ing” form of the verb for many persons and animals. • The teacher will give some examples

Day 5- Unit Presentation(Project) “Powerpoint Presentation Performance” • The teacher will explain and discuss the Rubric • The teacher will collect all the Written Journals and KWL chart • The teacher will now give their scores
