  3. COMMON NOUNS • Nouns that do not name a particular person, place, animal, or thing do not begin with a capital letter. They are called common nouns. • dog • family • teacher

  4. Proper Nouns • Special names for people, places, animals, and things are called proper nouns. Proper nouns begin with capital letters. • Grady loves to blow bubbles. • The girl loves Mickey Mouse. • Proper nouns are: • Grady • Mickey Mouse

  5. Examples of Proper Nouns • Diesel • Disney World • Bullskin Township School • Santa Claus

  6. Find the Proper Nouns • The principal’s name is Mr. Michael. • Our class went to the Pittsburg Zoo. • She lives on 1313 Mockingbird Lane. • The boy’s name is Colin.
