5. 3.Background of this forum • This year the civil aviation is maintaining the momentum of rapid growth and the total freight volume of the whole industry has leaped to the third place in the world. China has become a major country of civil aviation in the world and is marching towards the goal of civil aviation power. 。 • Informationization is a major means to sharpen the core competitive edge of civil aviation in our country. The CAAC has always attached great importance to the informationization work and defined the eight major information-based projects as the focus in the information-based civil aviation development during the tenth five-year plan period. 。 • This year the CAAC is going to accept and check the eight major information-based projects and launch the planning for the informationziation work during the eleventh five-year plan period. As a result, this forum will serve as a link between what goes before and what comes after.
