The Methods Section should: Describe the: • Participants • Number, characteristics pertinent to study • Task • Procedure • Trial, block, days, etc • Statistical Analyses • Design (formal organization), dependent variables
The Results Section should: • Be a statement of findings without interpretation and should include: • Descriptive Statistics • Mean (standard deviation or standard error) • Reports of inferential statistics • Significant differences (e.g., p<.05) • Common to present pertinent figures (or tables)
Discussion • Brief summary of pertinent findings with interpretation of these data • Should be link to end of the introduction (Shortcoming identified in transition statement) • Broad impact (Big Issue in the Transition Statement) • Where to next 1 2 3 4
