Jakafi is a JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor that works by reducing the overactive signaling of JAK1 and JAK2, which are associated with the symptoms of Polycythemia Vera. Jakafi’s patent expiration date is in 2027, but several companies have filed for generics. However, there might be a delay in the entry of generics due to legal disputes. PharmaEssentia’s new entrant, entry into NCCN guidelines, insights on pricing, and launches Besremi (Ropeginterferon alfa-2b) is a new entrant in the Polycythemia Vera market, developed by PharmaEssentia.
