Aims of the day: • Increased understanding and competence in a variety of ‘national priority’ areas to promote wider school improvement and pupil progress within your classroom • Reflect, share good practice and concerns whilst being part of the wider Partnership learning community • Discover Masters’ level opportunities and engage in school-based research in partnership with university staff • Explore future career development pathways into leadership and management. • Gain access to the University NQT support package via resources and on-line materials to help you in your first year of teaching to sustain the continuous process of development between training and practice
NQT Survey • Voluntary exercise carried out in February each year to collect and analyse NQTs' perceptions of their initial teacher training. • Used to gauge NQTs' views on the quality of their initial teacher training and how well it prepared them for their first year in teaching. • Results are used to help shape the NCTLand government policies and are shared with universities, colleges and schools involved in initial teacher training. • It is the data used for Ofsted inspections

Resources and support • Personal and professional development through: Via: • Entering onto one of our postgraduate programmes, through school CPD or by participating in a bespoke short-course • Through CPD training delivered in conjunction with our partners and an annual conference led by experts and guest speakers on relevant topics for both primary and secondary NQTs • Access to online materials and resources to help you in your first year of teaching via the Marjon TEP website, SEN portal and the NQT & CPD homepage • Continued access to Learning Space and Mahara to support the continuous process of development between training and practice • Network meetings and subject specific hub meetings • Facebook and Twitter pages for interactive discussion and advice with tutors and other NQTs
