OUTWARD FACING SCHOOL GOALS • Connect with all aspects of the Phoenix Family • Encourage adults to learn with their children • Partner with local businesses • Partner with members of the local community • Partner with LA and government groups • Local steering groups – 15 • Established local executive steering group • To establish Phoenix as a hub of the Community • Crucial to have Governors and the head on board.

Problems – confidence, bad experience, lack of knowledge • SO WHAT ARE WE CURRENTLY DOING? • Problems – confidence, bad experience lack of knowledge • Started with soft activities, sewing classes, flower arranging, cooking and farm activities. • Introduced traditional learning, food hygiene, ESOL, basic maths and literacy • GCSE’s, EDCL, Level 1 – 3 sports leaders, Arabic, BSL, counselling • it SOFT activities – arts and crafts, flower arranging, events, farm sessions et • Introduced • Started adult GCSEs, PPP, Life coaching

  13. SLETTINGS • Good avenue for community engagement • Currently 38 groups using PHS. Polish School, 600 students, football clubs, women’s only yoga • Good source of revenue • Last year made £89,000 after costs. This was used for family learning , farm and school improvements. • Good source of collaboration with local groups. • Establishes Phoenix as a community hub.
