India gate IN NORTH INDIA The India Gate is the national monument of India. Situated in the heart of NEW DELHI, the India Gate was designed by SIR EDWEN LUTYENS. It was built in 1931. Originally known as the All India War Memorial, it is a prominent landmark in DELHI and commemorates the 90,000 soldiers of the INDIAN ARME who lost their lives while fighting for the INDIAN EMPIRE, or more correctly BRITISH RAJ in WORLD WAR 1 and the THIRD ANGLO AFHGAN WAR. It is composed of red and pale sandstone and granite.
Charminar in south India Charminar built in 1591 AD, is a landmark monument located in Hyderabad, India. The two words CharMinar of Urdu Language are combined to which it is known as Charminar (English: Four Towers). These are four ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches, it has become the global icon of Hyderabad and is listed among the most recognized structures of INDIA. The Charminar is on the east bank of Musi river.
VICTORIA MEMORIAL IN EASTERN INDIA The Victoria Memorial, officially the Victoria Memorial Hall, is a memorial building dedicated to Victoria, queen of the United located in Kolkata, India – the capital of West Bengal and a former capital of British India. AMBER FORT IN WEST INDIA Amber Fort is located in Amber (Jaipur), which used to be the capital of the Kachhwaha clan, till Jaipur was made the official capital in 1727. The Amber Fort looks stunning, all-built in white marble and red sandstone. To add to its charm, Maotha Lake makes its foreground. The crystal mirror image of the Fort, on the still waters of the lake, seems to be a beautiful illusion. Amber Fort is usually pronounced as Amber Fort. In 1592, construction of the Fort was started by Raja Man Singh I. However, the Amber Fort took its present form during the reign of Raja Jai Singh I.
