These extra Friday sessions, held in our regular classroom, are necessary due to a holiday, instructor’s travel for a professional conference, and two fewer classes in the short summer session format. Hennessy, Computer Organization and Design: The Hardware/Software Interface, Morgan Kaufmann, 3rd edition, 2005 (the 2nd edition, 1998, is also quite good and may be less expensive).
