  1. PART 1: A BriefComparison of Time-Latitude First Stokes Bias Structure in v505 and v620Joe TenerelliSMOS Calibration Meeting 1826/05/2014

  2. PURPOSE:Compare v504 and v620 alias-free averagebias structure as a function of time and latitude, focusing on May 2011 (not eclipseperiodwithrelativelysmall orbital drift in v504) and Nov 2012-Jan 2013 (eclipseperiod).

  3. Variations in Tp7 strongestduringthis time of year: RecallDescendingPass TP-7 in Eclipse Period

  4. Variations in first Stokes parameteralsostrongestduringthis time of yearin version 504 of reconstructedTbs: Corresponding v505 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  5. Drift noticeablyreduced in v620: Corresponding v620 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  6. Drift differencebetween v620 and v504: Change from v505 to v620 Bias

  7. Bias change pattern seems to correspond well to the Tp-7 pattern in descending passes. So is the change in the biaslinked to the removal of the one-slope model? RecallDescendingPass TP-7 in Eclipse Period

  8. Correlationbetween Tp7 and bias in first Stokes isreduced in V620 rtelative to that in v504: DescendingPassBias vs TP-7

  9. Wenext look at ascendingpassbias

  10. Ascending passes v505 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  11. Ascending passes Corresponding v620 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  12. Ascending passes Change from v505 to v620 Bias

  13. CONCLUSION FOR ASCENDING PASSES:Latitudinal variation alsoseemsreduced for ascending passes in the eclipseperiod.

  14. Wenext look at descending-ascendingpassbias

  15. Descending-Ascending passes v505 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  16. Descending-Ascending passes Corresponding v620 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  17. Descending-Ascending passes Change from v505 to v620 Bias

  18. Wenext look at May 2011 where the change ismostly an overall shift in the level of the brightnesstemperaturewithlittle latitude-time structure.

  19. May 2011 descending passes Corresponding v505 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  20. May 2011 descending passes Corresponding v620 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  21. May 2011 descending passes Change from v505 to v620 Bias

  22. Wenext look at ascendingpassbias for May 2011

  23. May 2011 ascending passes Corresponding v505 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  24. May 2011 ascending passes Corresponding v620 AF-FOV Bias in (Tx+Ty)/2

  25. May 2011 ascending passes Change from v505 to v620 Bias

  26. CONCLUSION FOR MAY 2011 ASC/DESC PASSES:Noticeabledecrease in long-term drift in v620 relative to v504 for ascending passes.Little short term drift in either version in thisperiod.

  27. Fourth Stokes Bias

  28. Fourth Stokes v505 Bias

  29. Fourth Stokes v620 Bias

  30. Fourth Stokes v620-v505 Bias

  31. CONCLUSION FOR FOURTH STOKES:Reduced short term drift. Lessobviouscorrelationwith Faraday rotation (shouldbe none).
