Which is best? • Studies suggest that intrinsic motivation is better in for long term success because of the enjoyment and pleasure it brings and the ‘feel good factor’ • However, rewards that come such as GCSE grades, can be good motivators and drive you to do achieve great results Extrinsic rewards usually come when you are intrinsically motivated
The future you… You are on the brink of many challenges but also so many possibilities… Where do you see yourself in 5 months? Where do you see yourself in 2 years? 10 years? 20 years?

Good & Bad Stress • Bad stress like constant worry drains your energy and prevents you from concentrating. However • Good stress like just before exams can give you energy, motivates you and can even boost your memory
10 Easy Ways To Manage Your Stress • Plan your time – revision timetables do help. Regular breaks are important. Actually revising will reduce your stress • Focus on one task at a time – do not worry about your Geography while revising Maths • Sleep is very important – sleep provides time for your brain to rest and rejuvenation time. Have a break from revision before you go to bed. • During your breaks relax – this will allow you to be more ready to work after your break
Also … 5. Be realistic – do not over-commit. For the next 2 months your exams have to be your priority. You will have plenty of time for the other things when they are over 6. Reduce caffeine intake – caffeine interrupts your sleep and makes you more anxious/stressed 7. Exercise – this reduces your stress hormones and improves your mood. 30 minutes a day, even if it is just going for a walk, will help.
And … 8. Eat healthily/do not miss breakfast – stress increases your need for food. Eating healthily will improve your mood 9. Where you revise must not be distracting – do not have TVs on, do not have your phone with you, make sure you can concentrate while working. 10. If you feel too stressed - talk to someone GOOD LUCK
And NOW … • 12 days of full time schooling left. • Most of you will have had you first exam by this time in 3 weeks. • Lessons will continue until half – term (23rd May) – Go to them if you don’t have an exam that day.
