Voting • You have to be 18 or older to vote on a law. • You will vote for all kinds of things. • The biggest thing that you’re voting for is to see who is president.
How a bill becomes a law • First, somebody comes up with the law. • Second, they send it to Congress and Congress approves it. • Thirdly, it goes to the president and he approves it. • Finally, it goes to the Judicial branch to see if the law is fair.
Vetoing • When the law goes to the president the president has a choice to either veto it or approve it. • Veto means to not approve it or reject it. • When the president veto’s something, he puts a red veto stamp on it.
Why we make laws • If we did not make laws earth would be a disaster. • Laws made this planet change for better. • If we didn’t have laws we would probably be dead in 5 seconds.
