  3. Salta fue fundada en 1582, el Valle de Lerma la sostiene a los pies de los cerros 20 de Febrero y San Bernardo y conserva hoy su fisonomía hispánica y criolla. El nombre de Salta deriva de la palabra aymará Sagta, que significa hermosa, por eso se la conoce como “ Salta la linda”. Su perfil urbano esta delineado por casonas de paredes blancas y techos rojos, aljibes, veredas angostas, templos, museos que dan cuenta de su ilustre pasado. También está la otra Salta, la moderna ( la turística) que ofrece una importante infraestructura de servicios, como hoteles que se adaptan a las preferencias de cada visitante, establecimientos gastronómicos para todos los gustos y bolsillos, discotecas, pub, casinos. En la capital salteña, lo antiguo y lo actual conviven en el presente

  4. Salta se caracteriza por un itinerario cultural plagado de museos, iglesias, monumentos, antiguas casas de personalidades argentinas, peñas folclóricas. Su símbolo máximo: el Tren a las Nubes, que lleva a sus pasajeros a través de puentes, viaductos, túneles, curvas y rulos hasta una altura de 4220 metros sobre el nivel del mar, que justifica plenamente su nombre. Una experiencia que solo puede vivirse en Salta.
