and TWINNING PARTNERSHIP Objective: • To strengthen DAWACO’s water quality management processes by maintaining adequate chlorine residual levels in the water supply distribution network and improving water quality monitoring (per DAWACO’s Water Safety Plan) in order to safeguard against public health hazards. Program Duration: • 12 months • Starting in pilot locations with highest potential health risks
Twinning Activities • Consultations • Classroom lectures • On-the-job training • Study tours • Technology demonstration • Sharing of SOPs, manuals • Provision of equipment

MANILA - DAWACO TWINNING Chosen Residential Area for Pilot: MAN THAI, Danang City, Vietnam Flushing pt. RESULTS • Nearly 4,000 households have elevated residual chlorine upon continuous flushing and disinfection of water network lines • Maintained adequate residual chlorine levels of 0.2 ppm (minimum) in the distribution lines upon installation ofinterim chlorine booster
INSIGHTS/ LESSONS LEARNED • The program gave MWC an exceptionally revealing experience to validate its Water Quality Monitoring System. • DAWACO has its own unique and practical way of resolving issues and problems. • Improving water quality in the system is a continuing program.
