  2. DEFINITION • Wikipedia Deixis is the function o pointing or specify form the perspective of a participant in an act of speech.

  3. Yule (1996:9) deixis is a technical term (from Greek) for one of the most basic things we do with utterance. “Pointing Via Language” is called “Deictic Expression” or Indexical.

  9. Temporal Deixis Concern itself with the various time involved in and referred to in utterance. • Adverb = “now” , “then” and “soon” It is rain now, but I hope my heart will be sunny.
