  2. AGTERGROND • Op 20 Julie 1969 land Armstrong op die maan. • Die ruimte word nou werklik deel van die mens se (leef)wêreld. • Die mens los nou sy (koolstof) voetspoor nie net op aarde nie, maar ook in die ruimte en op die maan.

  3. “DIE RUIMTE Lê VOL ROMMEL” • Wit band om aarde wys al die rommel wat in die ruimte ronddryf

  4. Stad “blom” snags en gooi saad (groei) • METAFORE: • Die stadsliggies word vergelyk met die helder blomme van ‘n plant. • Die stad wat vinnig groei, word vergelyk met ‘n plant wat sy saad strooi sodat baie nuwe plantjies kan groei.

  5. STAALSPRUITE BREEK DEUR AARDKORS • METAFOOR: • Staalgeboue word vergelyk met spruite (sprouts/seedlings) wat deur die aarde se kors (crust) breek.

  6. Rusperleërs (caterpillar armies) • Metafoor: • Baie ruspers saam = rusperleër • Rusperleërs vreet alles om hulle op. • Die mens word vergelyk met rusperleërs wat alles om hulle vernietig.
