Decline of China & India • Han dynasty begins decline in 100 CE due to heavily taxed peasants, corrupt politics, and drastic measures to make ends meet. • Yellow Turban- Daoists promising a golden age. • The Guptas can’t control local leaders (400’s CE). The Huns conquer after 100 years, and become Rajput. • Arabs are in a religious war with India in 600CE and challenge Indian sea trade.
Pg. 109- 111 Rome Falls (Starting in 180 CE) Lots of weak emperors EXCEPT FOR Diocletian and Constantine. Diocletian (284-305 CE) tried to make himself a god in order for people to be loyal to him, regulate tax, and tighten up administration. Constantine ( 312 to 337 CE) made a second capital, Constantinople, and converted his empire into a Christian one. Last emperor of West Rome (476CE)
