  3. How did this start? • a reaction to the assassination of Ernst vomRath • Was a member of the German embassy staff • Ernst vomRath’s death reached Hitler and his advisors • They tried to turn Germany against the Jew’s

  4. why wasn’t the government involved? • They were not aware • Nazis arrested Jews or just killedthem

  5. Where did it take place? • German Reich • Sent Jew’s to Zbaszyn

  6. When did this happen? • November 9, 1938 • Carried on to next day • Ended November 10, 1938 • Damages • 91 Jews killed • 267 Synagogues burned down • 30,000 Jewish men arrested and sent to concentration camps
