  2. Coneixem la història, les anàlisis, la nova geografia europea..., i avui encara podem dialogar amb homes i dones de l'última generació que poden parlar en primera persona d'aquests fets. (...) A través de la teva vida podem conèixer part de la història d'Europa. (...) Has viscut a Àustria, després a Hongria i, finalment, quan la Segona Guerra Mundial es va acabar, a Espanya. La meva mare va néixer a Czernowitz, capital de la Bukovina, una regió al nord-est dels Carpats, que aleshores pertanyia a l'Imperi austrohongarès. Czernowitz després va ser romanesa amb el nom de Cernauti, tot seguit va pertànyer al Tercer Reich, més endavant va ser incorporada a l'URSS i, actualment, és a Ucraïna.
