It is conducted in two parts: CDS I and CDS II. CDS Eligibility Criteria The candidates have to meet certain educational, age and physical and medical criteria to be able to apply for the CDS examination. Below, we have discussed the CDS eligibility criteria for 2023. Educational Qualification Post Educational Criteria Indian Military Academy (IMA) Graduate from Recognized University Indian Naval Academy (INA) Engineering Degree from Recognized University Air Force Academy (AFA) Engineering Degree (Physics & Maths at 10+2) or B. Tech from Recognized University O?cers’ Training Academy Graduate from Recognized University (OTA) Age Limit For IMA, INA and AFA Only unmarried male candidates born between January 2, 2000, and January 1, 2005, are eligible. For OTA, Unmarried male and female candidates born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2005. Physical and Medical Requirements Candidates are required to fulfil medical standards set by the Union Public Service Commission and Service Selection Board. Candidates will also have to undergo a medical examination after they have been selected. Those who fail to fulfil the medical requirements will not be deemed suitable for entry into the defence forces. Appendix IV provides guidelines regarding physical standards that candidates must meet in order to apply for Combined Defence Services Exam 2023. Written Exam SSB Interview/Personality Test Document Verification Medical Examination Candidates who qualify for the written examination are called for the SSB interview. The final selection is done on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in both the written examination and the SSB interview. The selected candidates have to undergo a medical examination. The candidates who pass the medical parameters set by the various departments are considered the final selected ones. CDS Application Form UPSC released the o?cial notification and the CDS Application Form 2023 on its o?cial website on the 21st of December, 2022. The application form is now live, and
the candidates can fill it out till the 10th of January, 2023. Follow the steps below to fill out the application form: Step 1: Visit the o?cial website of UPSC. Step 2: Click the link that reads, “Combined Defence Services Examination 2023”. You will be redirected to a new page. Step 3: Fill in all the details asked on the page and continue to the next page. The registration ID would now be generated. Step 4: You will now be asked to pay the application fee. The general and OBC category candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 200/-. Female and SC/ST candidates do not have to pay any fees. Step 5: After the fee payment, select the desired examination centre. Step 6: Upload the required documents and click on Submit.
