  3. WHAT EXACTLY is GOOGLE EARTH? • It allows us to view any place on earth or space from a satellite view.  • Show Terrains, Street Level Buildings, Rivers, Underwater World, Space, etc. Niagara Falls

  4. USAGE OF GOOGLE EARTH • Use as a platform for delivering visually captivating and interactive application Through using of : • KML (Keyhole Markup Language) • Spreadsheet Mapper • Creating Tours • Placemarks

  5. WHATIS CLIMATE CHANGE? DO YOU KNOW? The Earth's climate has changed many times during the planet's history, with events ranging from ice ages to long periods of warmth. Climate change can result from natural processes, factors and more recently due to human activities through emissions of greenhouse gases.

BEING GREEN • Eat Locally • As this decreases the demand for imported food • Saving fuel and reduces emission of carbon dioxide , required to import food from other countries. • Public Transport • Cuts down on CO2 emissions and the dependence on foreign oil • Saving up almost 4.2 billion gallons of gas and 37 million metric tons of CO2 annually!  • Plus, households that use public transit save more than $8,000 a year.

  14. MEASURES TAKEN IN SINGAPORE Increasing green cover in Singapore A clean and green environment is necessary to provide a good quality of life. Hence, from 1986 to 2007, the green cover in Singapore increased from 36% to 47% even though the population had increased by 68% during the period. Despite being a small country, there is green cover over almost 50% of the country. This includes nature reserves which house our native biodiversity, as well as an island-wide network of parks, park connectors, street-side and waterfront greenery. Punggol Waterway

INDIVIDUAL Recycling Save Water • Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. • Conserves natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals; • Prevents pollution caused by reducing the need to collect new raw materials • Saves energy • etc…. • Take short showers of 5-10 mins • Always remember to shut off the faucet water when you are brushing your teeth • Re-use water that is used to wash rice grains to water the plants.
