  1. W Mass with latest CN Some improvements (features) & new tests V1.631 (Moriond) New: K-fit parametrisation V1.65 : (replacing v1.648) Better Jet C + fit param V1.651 :V1.65+adittional cuts V1.631 Modified Jet Boost test ALL TESTS DONE BY Hugo Ann Moutoussi, CERN

  2. Mw & new K-fit Parametrisation • Stephane fixed bug in code V1.631(Moriond) version was redone All following versions used correction. • Effect on data Mw (reconstruction 0) evqq +6, mvqq-15 tau -27, 4quark +3 (no special trend with Cone values) (some changes in events) A.Moutoussi CERN

  3. Mw & latest photon calibrationV.165 • New Photon Calibrations improve Total Energy and Jet Mass Data-MC • Effect on Mw was estimated with MC+GamCal v.1: Mw low by evqq11 ± 1, mvqq12 ± 1 tau 19 ± 1, 4quark6 ± 1 (~constant with Cone values) V1.65 uses latest version of GamCal, with larger corrections (different endcap,barrel) A.Moutoussi CERN

  4. Latest photon calibrationV.165 (2) cf 1.631New • evqq: +53 • mvqq: +40 • tvqq: +23 • 4quark: +5 Some events different • Masses going up • Shifts larger for semileptons, as expected but also shifts larger that GamCal1 predictions A.Moutoussi CERN

  5. Mw & GamCal & 15o cut • Now Jets are Reclustered (.NE.old attempt) • On Z events Data-MC Jet Mass difference gets More Negative with 15o cut (by ~50mev) cf 1.65(GamCal) • evqq: -19 & +2/87 MeV diff in stat error (~30) • mvqq: -22 & +1/78 MeV diff in stat error (~30) • tvqq: -9 & +5/117 MeV diff in stat error (~60) • 4quark: +5 & +3/52 MeV diff in stat error A.Moutoussi CERN

  6. V1.65 GamCal & 15o cut cf 1.631(moriond) • evqq: +57 • mvqq: +20 • tvqq: +9 • 4quark: +26 O(a) is included in V1.631new, V1.65, and in all results since last meeting but Not in V1.631(moriond) A.Moutoussi CERN

  7. V1.651 GamCal & 15o cut+ Cut on soft cal cf 1.65(GamCal+15) cf 1.631(moriond) • evqq: +29 +86 • mvqq: +31 +51 • tvqq: +85 +94 • 4quark: -27 -1 O(a) is included in V1.65, and in all results since last meeting but Not in V1.631(moriond) Not all channels go the same way… A.Moutoussi CERN

  8. Conclusions(1) • Parametrisation effects small. • Photon Calibration has larger that expected effects (pushing mass up) Especially for semileptons (~40Mev) • 15 cut have significant effects up to 20MeV,but of opposite sign. • Semils & 4Quarks don’t allows follow the trends.. Carefull when conclusions A.Moutoussi CERN

  9. Conclusions(2) • Stability of channels not greatly affected by new param or different versions. • From small changes (1sigma level) its difficult to conclude and easy to get biassed. • Different channels behave differently (going up or down with different CN versions) Some channel specific events exepcted and observed also in MC. • Stability issues best left to Z and Zgamma events… • Jet Mass vs Cone shown many times, updates & boost plots to appear v.soon A.Moutoussi CERN

  10. V1.631 Jet Boost test cf Jet Boost-Normal ala Andrea & Paolo (size of effect estimated from Zgamma events) • evqq: -102 ± 14 • mvqq: -84 ±14 • 4quark: -73 ±8 Big……… A.Moutoussi CERN

  11. Conclusions(3) • Jet Boost test has very large effects (~80) • Larger that predicted by FJN(full sim&noise) (~20 mev ) which is the MC closest to the Data for the Jet Mass/Boost Was effect too exagerated? Is FJN not close enough to Data? (Data-Mc Jmass still negative) Are other things compensating in FJN? (Angles, jet linearity) Have to test all these…… A.Moutoussi CERN
