  4. LAYOUT OF TRIPLE JUMP AREA

  5. EQUIPMENT • Sand pit • Takeoff and indicator board • Wind gauge • One red and white flag to indicate whether to go or to stop • Measuring tape • Rake to clear the sand pit • Chalk or masking tape to mark runway

  6. TEST MODIFICATIONS • For students in wheel chairs, an area will be available for them to participate in this skill test as well. • Testing Area: • The runway next to the two sand pits. • Will be marked with three white indicators (masking tape or chalk) to represent the takeoff board and jump phases (hop, step, and jump). • How the activity will be done • Students will be given a 15m approach to build up speed • As they approach the takeoff board (Hop), they will make one hard spin of the wheels, then another at the second indicator (step phase), and finally a hard spin and stretching the arms out to the side at the final indicator.

  7. SCORING PROCEDURE • Students were given 3 attempts to get a legal jump. • A legal jump: • running down the runway hitting the takeoff board behind the indication board and completing the hop and step phases with opposite legs, jumping and landing in the pit with both legs. • All 3 attempts scores will be recorded towards the final score. • Scored out of 50. • Maximum points 1-4 • Process: • Total of 20 points. • Three parts: foot placement on the board, foot movement, and arm movement that are worth, 6, 10, and 4 points respectively. • Product: • Total 30 points. • Three parts: Hopping 6 feet, stepping 4 feet, and jumping 6 feet.

  9. PRODUCT EVALUATION

  10. CLASS SKILL TEST RESULTS

  11. PROBLEMS WITH SKILL TEST • Test was too long. • Need more than one person to officiate.

  12. SKILL TEST CHANGES • Make test shorter by reducing the amount of attempts. • Be more structured in setting up the equipment.
