  3. Shallow Space • Significantly limits the depth of space between the front and back planes portrayed by an image or object • Opposite of Deep space Emperor Justinian and Courtiers, wall mosaic, San Vitale, Ravenna

  4. Allover Space • A form of shallow space where the differentiation between foreground/middle ground/background areas is negligible or even non-existent. Jackson Pollocks, Number One, 1948

  8. Allover Space • Invisibility • Textures merge with each other • Physical and emotional performance of the artist himself • This is in opposition to traditional composition in which there is a center of interest.

  9. Deep Space • Great spatial area • Scenes fall into this category • Panoramic View • The space represents the calmness of the drawing • The distance between the back and front planes are great
