  5. 2 types of writing Narrative: This type of prompt asks you to tell something that has happened to you personally.

  6. When writing a narrative essay remember to… • Be Creative • Focus on a small moment in time • Write about self • Have a beginning, middle, and end • Add conflict and resolution • Describe your setting • Add details

  7. Turn and talk Tell you neighbor what you know about narrative text.

  8. 2 types of writing continued Expository It does not ask you to write a story, but rather to write truthfully and factually about a subject and make connections to your own experiences.

  9. When writing an expository essay remember to…. • Inform • Stay organized • Stay on topic • Make personal connections, but don’t write a story about yourself. • Create a strong introduction and conclusion • Support facts with details
