UGA’s eResearch Portal • OVPR-wide Goal • Simplify, Streamline, and Integrate OVPR processes • GeaR Framework (Georgia electronic administration of Research) • GeaR encompasses all application of information systems in support of the "business of research" at UGA. • This is visible now as a web portal (gear.uga.edu) • The Electronic Research Administration System is a significant part of this framework • A comprehensive software application • Intended to handle processes for: • Human Subjects Office • Office for Sponsored Programs • Other processes in the future
UGA’s eResearch Portal • Vendor Selection • A process that began in early 2007. • Over 5 years later: • Huron ClickCommerceeResearch Portal
UGA’s eResearch Portal • Huron ClickCommerceeResearch Portal • Human Subjects / IRB development began 10/16/12 • Anticipated completion and rollout March/April 2013 • Up to date information can be viewed anytime via the ClickIRB page at gear.uga.edu • Compliance Training via CITI • A new UGA portal to the CITI website at paul.ovpr.uga.edu/CITI/ • Enable CITI records to be utilized in eResearch Portal • More information via the UGA CITI page at gear.uga.edu
UGA’s eResearch Portal • Huron ClickCommerceeResearch Portal • Sponsored Programs • The Click Grants Express module will rollout first (Cayuse 424 replacement) • Development began 2/5/13. Rollout prior to June 1st. • Cayuse will become unavailable June 20th, 2013 • Existing Cayuse proposals/documents CANNOT be transferred • Grants Express will also replace the transmittal form and approval processes • Followed by other OSP Processes • After implementations, assess subsequent direction for development • Follow development of the Grants portal using the GeaR Blog within gear.uga.edu
