Benefits for Student-LedConferencing • Increase student accountability • Teach students the process of self-evaluation • Develop the students’ organizational and oral communication skills • Increase parental involvement in conversation • Teachers may get a better idea of what a student perceives is happening in a class • Students are provided an opportunity to explain and share successes in the classroom

Process • Students complete form in class • Teacher reviews the student form and finishes the teacher section • Students and teacher gather work or projects to be used during conference (not necessary) • Teachers print a current grade report for the student and parent to see • During conference the student explains their ratings and comments and teacher facilitates the discussion
