Percussion “depth”chart - Jazz • Jazz Ensembles • Potential needs (2013, 2014): • No anticipated openings 2013 (unless I find a very strong player who is transferring or a freshman) • Need to recruit at least 1 strong player for 2014 (current freshman is not a likely replacement for Jazz Ensemble 1 in 2014; non-major; not taking lessons)

SUMMARY Be aware of departmental needs. Every student benefits from strong ensemble instrumentation. Take advantage of available student lists /contact information, to build a database of potential students. Missouri All-State lists are published on-line. We are working on acquiring district lists for both Missouri and Kansas. Ensure that student information is added to Filemaker database. Ensemble directors may want to contact students, in addition to applied teachers contacting students. Determine student preferred contact methods and contact frequency. This information will help facilitate the number of contacts between applied instructors and ensemble directors. Stay in contact with students based on data (#4) above.
