  2. What is Texting? • Texting is a technology used in a cell phone that helps you contact or communicate with some else rapidly

  3. The differences of a Digital Immigrant and a Native Immigrant Why do teens use text messaging? Why an adult would use text messaging? • Get in touch with friends • Emergency • So they don’t have to call • Having multiple conversations with multiple people • Breaking up with someone • Entertainment and fun • To get in touch with their child • To try to fit in • Easier to get in touch with anyone anywhere *Digital Native – A person who is born into the technology * Digital Immigrant – A person who is into technology but not born into it

Step by Step Instructions • You must have a cell phone (mobile phone) • Press the power button until it turns on • Now that it is turned on, depending on the cell phone find the menu button which could be in the middle or the upper top left • Select the message button with your finger • Now press the okay button • On your phone you may see many items such as Inbox, Outbox, send IM, send Email, send picture message, draft, and much more • But select the send text message button • Now you see a box that says send to: that means you need to enter the number of the person who you desire to message

Step by step instructions • The other box is the message, that is your text • you have noticed that you only have numbers and if you have a keyboard phone than that is great, but if you don’t then your phone has the ABC’s on each number • you can say whatever you wish to say • You must click the button where the letters you want are, until you get the letter you need • While texting instead of waiting for the cursor to get to the next letter just click on the arrow button which are located in the circle of the menu button
