  1. Installing the ideal UPS equipment in your cloud environment In order to meet the efficiency level cloud solutions are known for, the cloud service providers need to back their hardware with highly reliable UPS systems. The modern UPS brings with it a series of impressive features, but the equipment would be impractical if it fails to supply sufficient power to support the load until the utility power is completely restored. Generally, there are three topologies to choose from: standby, line-interactive and double-conversion, each with different characteristics, capacity and level of performance. Data center managers usually look for these key features while picking up the UPS systems for their cloud environment: security, availability, resiliency, efficiency and flexibility. Onsite facilities can merely compete with the services and level of performance offered by the cloud infrastructures. Here are a few key considerations: Security: Calculating the security rates of cloud services, it stands high as always and it being the fundamental aspect of cloud computing, service providers has to deliver data center with Tier IV capabilities that ensures to maintain resiliency. In addition, cloud services must be able to provide efficient scalability to support the growing needs. Besides, to upkeep the site’s tier rating data centers need to meet every aspect a Tier IV infrastructure must provide that includes cooling, power distribution, etc. and thus, it must be highly efficient to upkeep the rating. Building redundancy

  2. The environment can be developed fault-tolerant by including redundancy while designing UPS installation that will contribute to maintaining availability. Moreover, data center managers are free to configure power protection solutions that can gain them the desired high-availability feature along with other essential aspects they look for. The redundancy level relies mainly on the number of modules being connected in parallel. For instance, N+1 redundancy that is capable of supporting the load and allow restoration of utility power without any disruption. However, for additional security, data center operators can configure N+2 solution, which has the capacity to manage two modules failing at the same time. Scalability and efficiency Modular UPS systems offer the flexibility and scalability IT operators require, regardless of the infrastructure type. The equipment performs equally for all types of infrastructures, whether it is a public cloud facility or a private resource for running personal business operations. For example, a high-power UPS system is qualified to start from 100 kVA and scale eventually to 3 MVA. Conclusion: UPS equipment differs and one size doesn’t fit all. Thus, selecting a UPS for cloud servers require sound technical knowledge that’ll help with finding the right system that meets the demands of latest computing resources. Every UPS acts as a backup resource to keep the web servers running in case of power outage and to maintain the operational continuity. The aforementioned characteristics altogether works to meet the expectations of cloud service providers and provide high-availability.
