  2. The Story Behind my name When I was born my parents knew my middle name would be Gayle, the same as my mommy’s and Grammi’s, but they hadn’t decided on my first name. They had a list of about 10 girls names they liked, but they wanted to meet me before they chose one. My mommy liked Sophia because I would have a choice to be more casual by having people call me Sophie or posh by calling me Sophia. Daddy wasn’t sure until a few hours after I was born, When he said to mommy “I think she’s a Sophie!” • I was called Sophie until I started Kindergarten when I started I decided I wanted people to call me Sophia. My mom thinks it’s because my little sister never called me Sophie, she called me Sophia.
