  4. HYPERBOLE • Using exaggeration to make a point. Ex. I had a ton of homework.

  5. Onomatopoeia • Sound word • Ex. The roster went cocka doodle doo

  6. Alliteration • Repetition of beginning sounds • Ex: She sells sea shells by the sea shore.

  7. Personification • Giving human qualities to something not human Ex. The bed groaned when I go up.

  8. Idiom • A well known expression that does not mean what it says • Ex: Quit joshing me please.
