Teenage Pregnancy Anika Purnell , ReshelleCannon, Shannon Deputy. 02/06/12 Pd.2
The problem The problem in most states or countries to me is Teenage pregnancy. Now a days teenage pregnancy’s percentage has increased to 85 to 95%. 64% of girls in Delaware have already been pregnant and had babies at the ages of 13 to 19. This teenage pregnancies affect education, and the girls life. That means less sleep for the girls. Some even get bullied when they come back to school. A lot of pregnancies causes the female and male parents get involved and causes their parents stress. Most of the fathers bail our on the mothers because a baby and is to much stress for them. Which brings to another reason. Because the father doesn’t want anything to do with mom or the baby, the teen moms feel pressure, they decide to have abortions and or give the baby away for adoption.
The Cause !! The root cause of the teenage pregnancies is that men are not taking care of their children. Causing the teen moms to raise kids alone. 85% of these pregnancies are unplanned. And the teen moms start to smoke, drink alcohol , and do drugs because they feel stress. 92% of the fathers teen fathers leave the teen moms to raise their child alone. Causing stress and doing drugs can cause premature birth can cause brain damage, or physical disabilities, and more. Some teens do it to get their parents attention, or their parents don’t cheat them about safe sex. Birth control and condoms should be used before sex. If you don’t want to have a baby.
Our solution Solution 1 is to have more talks about sex in health classes. So if the kids don’t get it at home, at least they get it at school. Solution 2 is to have a sex talk with parents. I know it’s not the best thing to talk to mom or dad. But I would rather talk to the people who brought me in the world. Solution 3 once or twice a year all the girls should get together and have a community talk with girls who have already been through teenage pregnancy. That would help other girls to learn from their mistakes, and make better choices.. I think Solution 3 is the best choice yet, some people don’t feel comfortable talking to adults about their sex lives or talking to adults. So maybe girls our age, would help others to understand how hard it is to raise a baby at a young age.
The scope This is a National issue. Teen pregnancies are increasing all over the world everyday. And I want to stop it!!! Stop
