  2. Navachetana SHG, Aarundi Village Honnali Taluk Davanagere Dist.

Navachetana SHG, Aarundi • SHG formed on 15-9-1999 with 12 women by the N.G.O Aasare Rudest, Honnali Taluk Under SGSY Scheme. • SHG Obtained assistance of Rs.2.52 lakh as subsidy/ loan under SGSY during 2000-01. • Dairy Activity taken up initially. • 12 additional cows purchased within 6 months out of income obtained in the initial months. • Each member of SHG is getting Rs 2000/- per month from dairy.

  5. Different Activities • 12 Rams Purchased out of profit from dairy. • Got profit of Rs. 30,000/- within a year by selling rams

  6. FISH AUCTION • Participated in fish Auction of a local tank at the cost of Rs. 45,000/-. • Obtained Annual income of Rs. 1.14 laks during that year. • Obtained net profit of Rs.50,000/- from this activity.

VERMICULTURE • Vermiculture is taken up as subsidiary activity by 7 members of SHG. • Compost, a by product obtained from Dairy is utilized for preparing Vermi- Compost. • Lot of demand for vermi compost, medicines And earth worms by local farmers. • Obtained monthly income of Rs 4000 by selling earthworms vermi compost and medicines.

  9. Chemical Fertilizer Business • Lot of demand for chemical fertilizer in the Aarundi Village, due to predominance of paddy cultivation • The SHG procured & stocked the chemical fertilizer in time • Got good profit by selling chemical fertilizer to formers.

  11. Other Finacial Activities • 7 members of SHG taken up Apiculture • Got profit of Rs 3850/- within 2 months • Purchase of Maize de-carticating machine and got good profit. • Also got good profit by preparing phenoil, Shampoo, Agar battis and Badam powder.

Social Activities • L.I.C.Policies coverage for 100 persons in the Village. • The incentive of Rs 25,000/- obtained from L.I.C was utilized for repair works of temple in the village. • Participating in the National festivals and distributed sweets to school children. • Participating in the Sanitation works of the village. • Active Participation in Gram Sabha and ward Sabhas of the village. • Active Participation in the pulse polio, Farmers training and other Govt. Sponsored Programmes.
