Pre-writing Step 2- • What are some things that irritate you about these celebrities? Consider their talent (or lack there of), hobbies, speech, actions, relationships, personality, etc…
Pre-writing Step 3- • Now list some interviewers that irk you (Oprah, Charlie Rose, Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, etc…).
Pre-writing Step 4- • What are some things that irritate you about these interviewers? Consider the types of questions they ask, their show format, their style of speech, etc…
Part 3- Write your own satirical celebrity interview • Using a satirical interview method create an interview choosing one interviewer from your pre-writing. This interviewer should ask questions and sometimes provide their own opinions and thoughts. • Choose one of the celebrities from your pre-writing. They should provide answers, and sometimes you may choose to have them ask the questions. How ironic! • The interview should look like a script. • Be sure to use irony, absurdity and exaggeration to enhance the satire and make your message clear about what it is that you are specifically criticizing.
