  3. For A Better Life Oh, do not pray for easy lives! Pray to be stronger Vessels! Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks! Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle. But you shall be a miracle. Every day you shall wonder at yourself, at the richness of life which has come in you by the grace of God.

This is His nature…1 Jn. 4:16 “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him” When you can get pass all the mess, backbiting, slander, gossip and so on; all that’s left is “Love.” Put as much effort into gaining it, as we do in all the above junk, guest what; you have the nature of God—“LOVE”

This is His nature… a) Be willing to sacrifice…Eph. 5:2 “…live a life of love, just as Christ loved us…He gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” >True Agape< Rom. 5:8 “But God demon- strated His love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” It’s the giving of self that shows it….

Second, The Counterfeit of real love(Eph. 5:3-7) Eph. 5:3 “But among you their must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, any kind of impurity, for this is improper for God’s holy people” 1. Don’t mess around in the flesh… 1 Corin. 10:8 “We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of then died” When the Israelites worshiped Baal of Peor and engaged in sexual immorality with Moabite women {See Num. 25:1-9}

Don’t mess around in the flesh… a) Be careful of your jokes…Eph. 5:4 “Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk…are out of place…lives of thanks- giving” b) Check what makes you laugh… Pro. 17:22a “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” Healthy laughter brings about good health. So laugh at the good humor

Those that find the filth funny… 1 Corin. 6:9,10 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God”

Third, The Contrast between real and counterfeit love (Eph. 5:8-17) Eph. 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now , we are light in the Lord…live as children of light” 1. Be cleansed for living…Jn. 17:17 “Sanctify them by the truth, Your Word is truth” The contrast between the two is to live according to the Word of God (The Bible)

Speak to Spiritual Health…Jm. 5:20 “Remember this: Whoever turns a sin- ner from the error of his ways will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins” Right living is the evidence and result of faith. The church must serve with compassion, speak lovingly and truth- fully, live in obedience to God’s com- mands and love one another

Speak to Spiritual Health… a) Even when you are labeled other- wise… Matt. 5:11,12 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kind of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” Someone has to say it…It should be the Christian!!!

Doing things according to His—Will —Way & Word… 1 Thes. 4:3 “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality” Being sanctified or made holy is the process of living the Christian life.

It leads you in the direction that is beneficial to all concerned and brings glory & Honor to God. The opposite is true of the “Counterfeit” type.. If it feels bad and harmful to others well being; then this is not Real love; but Counterfeit —Remember!! We Are The— —huggables—

My Bible is full of promises and command- ments, my Bible has good and bad examp- les. How do I know my Bible is true? By comparing scripture with scripture and spiritual things with spiritual things. I study my Bible to show myself approved, rightly dividing the Word of God.
