Main Learning Task • Today we are going to look at taking away. • We are going to work as a class.
Main Learning Task • I need 4 volunteers. • Give two of them large number cards • Give two large phrase cards.
Main Learning Task • Ask the four children to arrange themselves facing the class so that when they hold up their cards, they make an unfinished number sentence. • Get the class to chant the complete sentence aloud.
Main Learning Task • Can another child find the right number card? • The class now chants the whole sentence. • Replace the phrase words.
