  14. Drawing Conclusions On the school bus, Tyrone used pencils to beat a rhythm on the seats and windows. He whistled tunes along with the beats and sometimes sang words he’d made up. During tests Tyrone often tapped his feet and his fingers while filling in the answers. When the fourth grade had music class, Tyrone was the first one in the room. Sometimes when the other students got to music class they would find Tyrone touching the trumpets and the violins, or sitting a the piano with a look of awe on his face. Mr. Duncan, the music teacher, practically had to kick Tyrone out of the music room at the end of class. Tyrone had a guitar, a harmonica, a drum, and a flute at home. He took piano lessons at his grandmother’s house on her old upright piano with family pictures on the top. Tyrone’s piano teacher never had to lecture him about practicing his scales, because he learned them all and could play them backwards and upside down.
