  5. Ethanol gas making waves in Ohio Paul Thomas One Ohio Congresswoman says we should start importing fuel from the Midwest, instead of the Middle East. And she says Ohio farmers can get the job done. Ethanol, grain alcohol, usually produced from corn, has been around for decades. But now, with gas approaching a wallet-burning, three dollars a gallon, E85, 85 percent ethanol, 15 percent gasoline, is getting a big push."America can no longer be held hostage," says Ohio Congresswoman, Marcy Kaptur. "We in Ohio can be energy independent within our borders. And then we can export as a source of income to other places."
